Text of the Manifesto of the demonstration on June 3 MANIFESTO FOR THE LAND AND THE HERITAGE ENVIRONMENTAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL. MURCIA REGION NOT SOLD
Today in the Region of Murcia are living a crossroads. On the one hand, we have a way that gives us the brotherhood of concrete, formed by most of the ruling elites and big real estate and construction companies, which intend to make the Murcia region on a site occupied by resorts, golf courses and developments. Otherwise, we have the path of development that respects, Open Source Intelligence care and deal with our land, traditional landscapes, our cultural and social values, our natural resources, our biodiversity and our quality of life.
For all of us here today the choice is clear: to urge a 180 º in the development model which seeks to impose on our territory. We sell a brick-based growth and that it is carcinogenic by overkill. Serves the rapid enrichment of a minority rich and full of corrupt transactions and irregularities, as evidenced by the long list of cases being investigated by the courts and the Prosecutor.
This urban explosion threatens the very heart of the rule of law, democratic functioning and freedom, because it is making people outside, trying to silence critical voices, canceling the debate and stealing full control mechanisms and democratic participation. This is much more than a hypothetical risk, the figures show the abuse as planning agreements, the scandalous award of licenses for digital terrestrial television, mostly in the hands of the plot of the brick, by the connivance and government complicity regional as well as threats and pressures, parties and brutally direct citizens to express aloud their critical opinion and officials that do not sell your signature.
However, despite the unequal balance, the citizens of the Region of Murcia are saying loud and clear to the regional government, mayors and councilmen, a large real estate companies and all the prophets of resort and golf course, we're not going to let him steal our territory or our environmental heritage, and the landscapes in which we have grown and are an essential part of ourselves, nor the cultural and social elements are inseparable from our personal and collective identity and how we understand and enjoy real quality of life.
Since five years ago, a growing number of people are struggling against the monoculture of concrete and the golf course with all possible instruments to justice denouncing the numerous cases of corruption and irregularities by organizing demonstrations in the street making information and discussion activities, and proposing alternatives for a more intelligent and sustainable development, as in the recent Sustainability Conference, where we see the potential of various options to diversify the socio-economic activity such as farming.
Among
all, we are making against urban tsunami that devastated the region, is growing an unstoppable tide of citizen resistance, the prophets of the brick did not expect. As did not expect last year, two months after its constitution, the coordinator is not sold, of which already form part of 50 groups, convene thousands of people in the streets of Murcia.

And we say also in many other cases throughout the territory of Murcia.
From here we launched a triple message: the regional government, Mr. Valcárcel and his team, including Mr. Ruiz Vivo and demagoguery, we say that people are not going to indulge his contempt for the territory, for the environmental heritage, cultural and social and general interests of all Murcia, and their servitude to the club's brick and get rich quick.
A local governors, mayors and councilors, we say that we will take note of who is defending a development model based on reasonable and intelligent resource conservation, and who is selling his town and its people to the highest bidder, for a pittance.
And finally we tell the real estate companies, builders and developers, those who have to draw and decide what future and what kind of development we want, not them, but all Murcia Murcia and through democratic processes. Companies here do not fit that threaten citizens and institutions to force them to bow to its interests, as companies like Polaris have tried in Alhama, and most recently Hispania, La Cerrichera. You abound in this land.
Friends and colleagues: the claim that the Region of Murcia is not sold, is already a deep and growing tide that has managed to unseat the populist discourse of the Agua Para Todos. And they will not stop us. So we shall meet again in discussions on sustainable development models, which continue to celebrate throughout the month of June, collecting signatures for a Popular Legislative Initiative to protect natural areas and in March for the Defense of the Coast, which this year will make the July 2. COORDINATOR "LA REGION DE MURCIA NO SE VENDE"
