Sale Murcia not support the proposal to protect Four Calas and Brusca Cañada in

COORDINATOR "MURCIA NO SE VENDE" SUPPORT THE REQUEST MADE BY THE GLOBAL NATURE FOUNDATION AND AA.VV. FEDERATION TO THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT BUY THE PROTECTED LANDSCAPE CALAS FOUR AND GLEN SHARP.

Coordinator "The Region of Murcia Not For Sale" has expressed its support for the proposal made by the Global Nature Fund and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, Consumers and Users of the Region of Murcia who have requested the Ministry of Environment to purchase the Protected Landscape and Dale Cuatro Calas Brusca, in Aguilas.

This was made known to the coordinator that brings together 60 associations and groups Murcia, through a letter submitted to the Ministry of Environment, dated 17/11/2006.

These organizations have also requested the purchase of a strip of land 500 meters around the countryside to serve as a protective strip to cushion adverse environmental impacts.
With

218.32 hectares, the protected landscape Cañada Four Coves and Brusca, is one of the most important coastal natural areas in the Region of Murcia for their environmental value, landscape, geological and cultural. Also, 172.71 hectares are included in the Site of Community Importance (SCI) of the same name.

Coordinator "The Region of Murcia No Se Vende" considered very successful but insufficient new Environment Ministry's policy of acquiring land on the coast of the Region of Murcia from the Ministry of Defence, because it involves a mere change in ownership within the central administration and leaves out coastal areas and pre-littoral of great ecological value found in private hands and are sensitive to real estate speculation. They consider that the Ministry of Environment should be expanded public property by buying privately owned land of high environmental value, are pre- protected or not, since it is not always a declaration of a protected natural area is an effective conservation.
